The Farmacy Fam hasn't had many updates here on the site in the past few months, but that is not a reflection of what we've been doing elsewhere. After the release of our most recent project, Donny Dego's "Tales of a Thin Man," we've had the opportunity to speak with Rowbot of KSJS 90.5FM on air about our business and the upcoming projects, as well as perform and collaborate with Hiero Imperium's Cold Showda from Chosen Few.
We have also been in the studio consistently working on new music:
1. Our newest release will be Morbid's solo effort, "Nineteen.Eighty.Two (Book1)", which was completed this month. It's 15 songs of well thought out lyrics, both braggadocious and conceptual; production by MedsRX boasts a well rounded sound encompassing country, hard rock, and soul while adhering to the feel of Hip Hop's golden era. The album features label mates, Meds, Donny Dego, CORE, Appature, and Lil Bit as well as Myc Ripley (Highesteem) and Cold Showda (Hiero).
2. Meanwhile, Morbid and Donny Dego have formed OCD. As another rap pairing under the FFM umbrella, the forthcoming album will be 12+ songs, consciously conceptual, hardhitting drums with a soulful side. Due to be completed by Fall.
3. Another rap duo recently formed at FFM consists of CORE and Appature. Production and recording of their project has begun as well. Album "Sons and Moons" will be available Spring 2012.
4. Similarly, Dinamites Neon, a hip hop R&B matching between Lil Bit and MedsRX has an album underway also. Look out for this album in early 2012.
Tales of a Thin Man by Donny Dego is almost here folks. This one is going to be a great addition to the FFM catalog. When hip hop heads talk about a well rounded album, this is what they mean. The choruses evoke emotion, the verses have important and influential content and the beats are inventive, creative and thunderous. Don't sleep - Dego will take you where only a veteran can.

We had a lot of fun performing at live outside the matrix on Thursday August 5. Thanks to Sharks in a 3 Peace Suit and Tequila Brown for putting us on the show case and thanks to So. 1st Billiards for supporting local hip hop and allowing us to get on stage.

It's been a minute since my last update on the journal, mostly because we've been hard at it making sure everything is ready for the album release. We've decided to have a pre-release beginning August 5, 2010. We -MITS and Donny Dego- will be performing at South First Street Billiards in downtown San Jose that day, doors open at 8pm, and you can pick your copy up at the venue. We are still working out the details of a double release party for the MITS album "antidote.money.musik" and the Donny Dego record entitled "Tales of a Thin Man". Stay tuned into Frugal Farmacy's web presence to make sure you don't miss that event. Details in the works.

Everyone knows that underground hip hop has a hard time getting on mainstream radio stations - our market is just too small for them to care. Our only outlet of course is college radio DJs like those at KSJS (San Jose State Radio), who we appreciate with unmeasured sincerity. Since this is the case, we want to bring the singles directly to the listeners by passing our singles demo out on the streets of the Bay Area! We've been out there getting them off for the last 10 days and have nothing buy good feed back, thank you to all the people listening! We are going to keep making this music because we care about Hip Hop and we understand the need for diversity in it. Don't forget to cop the Monstaz inthe Statik album "antidote.money.musik" July 31!

Frugal Farmacy Media dropped the Monstaz inthe Statik album off at the master engineer's studio on Friday the 11th. Meanwhile, Force 129 is finishing with the final touches on all the cover art. In other words, the album is around the corner and we couldn't be more anxious to get it out there. It will surprise you. We put our whole hearts into it because we care whole-heartedly about the quality of our brand of hip hop! Details on the release party have not been finalized; but we will update you soon.

"Taking over Hip Hop, one track at a time"
The month of May came upon us with unusual quickness this year, but here at the Farmacy we're excited about that. The reason being, we can't wait until summer is here so we can finally drop the Monstaz inthe Statik album (late July!) and the Donny Dego LP (August).
We are putting the final touches on each of them: Artwork, final mastering etc. You won't be disappointed in these, I swear! Listen to the singles in the player on the top of the screen and check back for more. We won't stop putting the music out so keep looking for it!

Frugal Farmacy Media has spent the last two years in the new Pill Box Studios (Pill Box Air) recording a mix tape (the Vaccine Vol. 2 by Monstaz inthe Statik, already released as a free promo), recording Donny Dego's FFM debut tentatively called "Tales of a Thin Man" and "antidote.money.musik" from the flagship crew Monstaz inthe Statik. During that time, we've been formulating our plan to market our new projects as well get the more official business end of things off the ground. It is all starting to become real now as we have the product in the can, and the people asking us for it.
Up until now, we've made a conscious effort to hold off on promotion and shows until we have a physical album in hand, but that is now around the corner. Those of you that have been backing us up since 2003, you shall wait no longer, we are at it and have multiple bangin' LPs almost ready. That's a promise.
You should be on the look out for several singles off these albums soon. "she smashed the homie", "Wind Pipes", "Press Rewind" and "Make it Clap" are on the way.
Note: Morbid AKA Rusty James has recorded six songs for his upcoming solo debut "1982" and Donny Dego and Rusty James have recorded nine mixtape tracks for an upcoming project entitled "conversations in a shoe box".
